Grilling a Beef Roast Drives the Dogs Crazy! (Who Knew?)

One of the greatest quotes about beef comes from the Gangster Rapper, Ice Cube (Don Mega). He said in one of his songs, “These 32 teeth will give your ass grief – – Bite you like a Fat Burger if you got beef.”

Lets face it, the guy can rap.

I’ve actually never eaten anything from Fat Burger but if its good let me know.

Anyways,

I can’t rap about beef but I sure can cook it. And cook it we did…

We decided to grill a beef roast on the weber grill the other night and it turned out to be the best beef roast I’ve ever eaten. It was extremely tender and juicy…just how you want it. The days of cooking it in the crock-pot are over.

So as you will see in the video, we used a top round roast. We covered it in extra virgin olive oil  ( we really like Kirkland Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Costco…the Tuscano), seasoned it up, and seared it on all sides before moving it off of the coals.

Once we moved it to the other side of the grill we left it alone for about an hour and twenty minutes.

It’s pretty funny that as soon as we started cooking it, the neighborhood dogs started going crazy… it smelled really, really good.

Let’s see… how about a video of me cooking something on the grill that you don’t know how to cook…as long as I can find the ingredients (ill take all the risk of  it turning into a complete failure).

I’ve got a nice new bag of charcoal burning a hole on the shelf (just kidding of course) next to my grill. It’s got your name on it, Mr/Ms Winner. I’ll dump a bunch of lighter fluid on it, and have a match on it ASAP.

Tasty Treat for Breakfast

Hot Damn! (Grilled Chicken) and an Uninvited Guest.

There are a ton of different Grilled Chicken Recipes out there… you could make:
Grilled Chicken Salad
Grilled Chicken and Sausage Gumbo
Grilled Chicken Tacos
Grilled Chicken Kabobs
Caribbean Grilled Chicken Wings…

I think you get the point – – we could go on forever about the different types of Grilled Chicken but there is one common thread and that is the grill.
In this video you will see the easiest way to make Grilled Chicken. Then its up to you to figure out how you want to season it, and what to serve it with.

A word of caution: Do not leave the grill unattended for too long. You may get an uninvited guest at your back door… like a creepy monkey!!!

Fresh Herbs

Donna stopped by the local grocery store and picked up some herbs that we can grow this summer. We do it every year and not only does it make your food taste really good, it makes the back patio smell really good.
Its always nice to catch a breeze blowing through the house that smells like Lemon Basil!!! Yum Yum!

Anyways, we picked up Sweet Basil, Dill, Lemon Basil,Tarragon, Rosemary, Greek Oregano, Burgundy Oregano, and Lemon Balm…

As you can see, our cat, Percy, loved the box.

The Finest Shrimp Sauce Ever?

As a follow up to my last post, I thought I would shed some light on Al’s Gourmet Shrimp Sauce.

As you witnessed in the video, we highly recommend Al’s Gourmet Shrimp Sauce for your grilled shrimp and I said to look them up online.

Instead of making you work for it, I’ll post a link to their facebook page. It was really the only link I could find… hopefully they have a way to order online.
